Li Huang is Chinese and grew up in China. She started her studies in medicine with obtaining a bachelor degree in 2014, followed by her master degree in medicine from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2017. After graduation. She began to work as a resident physician at the hospital’s ophthalmology department.

In November 2018 Li started her PhD / ESR project at the university of Modena and Reggio Emilia within the transMed consortium in Prof. Valeria Marigo’s lab and is working on characterisation of new transcripts, miRNA and cGMP interactors in degenerating rod photoreceptors after treatments with cGMP analogues and drug delivery systems (DDS).
